Microsoft's hardware teams incubate advanced technologies and build deep partnerships with internal research, product planning, and marketing teams. Microsoft ships tens of millions of hardware products every year, including Xbox, Surface, HoloLens, accessories, and much more. Our opportunities represent a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, design, verification, performance modeling, and the development of custom silicon. We are looking for the best and brightest to join us in designing for the future!
Responsibilities
The Silicon Engineering and Solutions semicustom SoC team is responsible for all facets of silicon design from architectural review of features, microarchitecture of IP blocks, RTL design, synthesis, static timing analysis, pre-silicon prototyping, silicon validation, to manufacturing support. We are specifically looking for candidates with strong RTL design and post-silicon validation skills who can leverage cross-functional teams (Architecture, IP, FW, EE, and product engineering) and drive post-silicon validation planning and execution.

Preferrred Requirements:
- Strong expertise in digital design including specification development, RTL design, synthesis and static timing signoff
- Proven track record of successful SoC or ASIC bring-up in leading-edge technologies
- Expertise in high-speed protocols (i.e. USB, PCIe, DDR) and lab experience with high-speed IO bring-up
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as scopes, protocol analyzers, JTAG debuggers, etc.
- Knowledge of thermal and electrical qualification of pre-production silicon
- Exposure to debugging field-failure and corner-lot parts on validation boards to isolate the nature of failure for pre-production prototypes
