What you’ll do:
You will lead a team who operate and maintain some of Sydney’s most important water supply infrastructure. The Sydney regional operations team carry out routine inspections and maintenance, complete corrective repairs and collect data to monitor water volume and water quality. Your job is to provide the leadership and guidance so that work is done safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leadership: Develop the culture, capability and performance of our team
- Planning: Ensure that our work is well planned and prepared so that it is completed efficiently and safely
- Regional Representation: Represent WaterNSW in contacts with key stakeholders.
- Innovation: Develop and support the adoption of appropriate technology, automation and optimisation to manage all resources most effectively.
- Incident Management: Manage a coordinated and appropriate response to operational incidents, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure continued safe water supply.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in maintaining and operating large scale infrastructure and asset management systems, ideally in water supply or other utilities
- Experience in developing high performing work teams, building relationships, negotiating, conflict resolution, driving change and communicating with all levels.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through periods of change
- Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory requirements in which WaterNSW operates
- Knowledge of the approach for effective maintenance and operations management systems.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
Favourable Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in this position or a similar position demonstrating the same core skillset.
- Knowledge of water management or operations in New South Wales.
- Understanding of quality assurance for data acquisition and data management.
- Experience leading teams within a regulated industrial environment
