Career in fintech

Louisa Evans has spent her career solving problems that matter to real people. In emergency management and disaster recovery. In state planning and grants. In Treasury, and even in fitness. Ten months ago, she added fintech to that list, joining HUB24 Group as Senior Business Analyst. It’s a career that makes complete sense: every role has sharpened the same instinct, to find better ways of working that make life easier for the people on the other end.

A career built on variety

Before HUB24, Louisa moved through project management, product ownership and business analyst roles across several industries, including emergency management, natural disaster recovery, state planning, grants management and Treasury. She says:

“Each experience has given me a different perspective and helped shape the way I approach problem-solving, collaboration and delivering meaningful outcomes.

That range is doing double duty at HUB24, one of Australia’s leading wealth platforms, where Louisa works across teams to turn ideas into delivery.

“My favourite part of my role is the people. I enjoy building relationships across the business and working with talented teams to solve problems and create positive change. There’s a real sense of satisfaction in seeing a project progress from an initial idea through to delivery, especially when you know the outcome will make a difference for both colleagues and customers.”

Why fintech, why HUB24

The move into financial technology was a deliberate change of direction.

“The opportunity to work in fintech was an exciting new challenge for me and what sealed it was the people I met during recruitment. I was struck by the genuine warmth and kindness, combined with the company’s strong employee benefits and culture, it left me with a very positive impression of what it would be like to work here, and that feeling has certainly proven to be true.”

Growth that keeps pace with life

HUB24 has invested in AI education and training, and Louisa has used it to build new skills.

“I’ve had the opportunity to build my knowledge and confidence in using AI tools, and it’s been exciting to see how these technologies can enhance productivity and support innovation across the business,” she says.

HUB24 offers benefits and career development programs that help you grow at your own pace

That growth hasn’t come at the cost of her life outside work. Louisa is a parent to a young child, with a second on the way, and says HUB24’s flexibility has made a real difference.

“Being able to work in a way that suits both my professional responsibilities and personal commitments allows me to be fully present in both areas. Having that level of trust and flexibility is incredibly valuable and helps me bring my best self to work each day.”

An achievement she still thinks about

Ask Louisa what she’s most proud of, and she points to a project that turned paper-based grants processes into digital systems, making it faster and easier for communities to secure funding for projects from playgrounds to disaster recovery facilities.

“Seeing tangible benefits delivered to communities was incredibly rewarding,” she says. The project also earned her a department-wide award for excellence in collaboration, recognising the teamwork behind it.

It’s the kind of achievement that explains why she was drawn to a workplace recognised by WORK180.

“I have a great deal of respect for organisations that actively invest in creating inclusive, supportive and equitable workplaces. It demonstrates a commitment to continually improving the employee experience and holding themselves accountable to high standards.”

Ten months in, Louisa is still early in her time at HUB24. But the shape of it is already familiar: a career built on solving real problems, working alongside people who make the effort worthwhile, and a workplace that makes room for the rest of her life too.
