ACCIONA is responsible to build a waste-to-energy (WTE) plant in Kwinana (Western Australia). Once completed, the facility is scheduled to process in excess of 400,000 tonnes of waste and will produce 36 MW of power!
We are looking an exceptional Telecommunications Engineer to provide technical expertise, administrative support, and Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality & Sustainability (HSQES) guidance to the Project Managers and Supervisors/Leading Hands across the project's. team.
This role requires strong communication and coordination skills to ensure smooth project execution. You will be responsible for accurately reporting project progress and ensuring adherence to cost, time, scope, and quality targets. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing engineering and management plans, as well as providing administrative support as directed by the Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake the full range of a Project Engineer's responsibilities (consistent with your qualifications, skills and capabilities), from: preparing safety and construction documentation; to procurement; to preparing, tracking and forecasting against a construction budget; to liaising with the client; to investigating services/utilities and issuing internal permits to work; to maintaining a rolling program with the supervisor; to QA; to Contract Administration; to daily cost control: to weekly and monthly reporting, utilising engineering support services as required.
- Ensure the project delivery team are undertaking a daily pre-start meeting, where job specific task risk assessments are undertaken, culminating with all workers signing on to the pre-start.
- Design, develop and implement technical solutions to address network issues.
- Communicate with key stakeholders and identify solutions for new services additions.
- Review the drawings and specifications to produce a Completion Report Tracker prior to undertaking the works, which is built upon and closed out during project delivery.
- Obtain permits to work (e.g. Services Permit, Working Platform Permit, other external Permits to Work)
- Prepare a construction budget, communicating this information (including production targets required to meet budget) clearly and concisely to the Supervisor/s
- Order materials necessary to perform the works (within expenditure limits) by raising Purchase Orders in the Company's Job Costing, Contract Administration and Financial Accounting system, Cheops. This requires you to amend POs to reflect works performed and approve invoices in a timely manner and update Cheops weekly
- Select subcontractors and suppliers based on an evaluation of their ability to meet the specified requirements (including HSQES) and ensure their compliance with these requirements
Key Competencies:
- Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering degree (or similar)
- ~4-6 years' experience working on Telecommunications projects.
- Profound knowledge of build specs and standards
- Strong background in the following systems: CCTV, Public Address, telephony and data, and Emergency Warning and intercommunication Systems (EWIS).
- Construction Induction Training (CIT/'White Card', formerly a 'Red Card')
- Provide First Aid (Level 2), ensuring this certificate is current at all times
- Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar Safety Leadership-type program)
