The Opportunity
Due to a number of recent project wins, we are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead one of our $ 1 billion-plus projects. This role presents a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact on the project through the start-up phase and throughout the project life cycle.
Reporting directly to the Operations Support Manager on the project, you will lead a team across the full remit of HR, Training, Recruitment, and Social Inclusion. Based both in the Sydney CBD office and working from our site office 3hrs from the city, you will provide support and advice to the Project Management team. As a trusted business partner, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the project goals and overarching strategies.
What will you be Responsible for?
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with project goals and objectives, providing guidance and support to the project management team on HR matters.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures that align to project needs across both the project and Joint Venture partners.
- Collaborate with project heads to forecast staffing needs and attract a diverse talent pool through recruitment strategies
- Manage the industrial relations (IR) and employee relations (ER) needs of the project, including assistance with any enterprise agreements.
- Oversee employee relations initiatives, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment while addressing employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Identify training needs and develop comprehensive learning and development programs to build capability on the project.
- Lead and develop an HR team to deliver project outcomes.
What capabilities will you need to be successful?
- Experience in a leadership role within the HR/IR environment, ideally in a similar industry.
- Ideally, a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Highly proficient with employment law, regulations, and best practices in HR.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to manage a team effectively, ideally in a joint venture environment.
- Capability to influence and drive change management through all levels of project leadership and operational staff
