The Opportunity
Due to our Acciona, MACA, AECOM (AMA) Alliance being selected as the preferred proponent on the Ring Road Completion Project we are seeking to appoint a Site Engineer working out of the Collingwood project office initially but moving to site as required. Project Engineers are also encouraged to apply.
The Project
This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Maintain documentation and systems for quality, safety, environmental
- Some exposure to maintaining planning/programming to assist Project managers with 4-6 week look ahead's
- Able to read/interpret design plans & drawings
- Participate in client/contractor meetings where required
- Financial assisting of cost tracking/invoicing of subcontractors on different packages of work
- Report upstream to project/senior project engineers but gain leadership exposure with grads/undergrads
- Foster collaborative and effective relationships with a range of internal/external stakeholders
- Work across various civil packages not limited to roads, rail, earthworks, structures, pavements, utilities aligned with you experience and project needs
Requirements
- You will have a tertiary education in civil engineering, construction or something similar
- You will have a solid foundation of site-based experience working on a range of civil or structural packages as those above support a major road or rail project locally
- An ability to understand design, problem solve, learn, adapt and continually challenge yourself
- Well-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and clients
