We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team for the safe and effective commissioning and handover of the Kwinana Waste to Energy facility.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the exercise of proper financial control across the project, including cost control, forecasting, project reporting and claims management. Production of an accurate monthly report on the economic management of the project; assistance with integration and effective advice & guidance on commercial activities across the project.


Key Responsibilities:

• Continuous monitoring of project delivery against the requirement of the EPC contract
• Be available to assist Project Director on commercial negotiation with Project Co.
• Managing the interface of the commercial team with other project teams to meet project outcomes.
• Provide and reviewing subcontractor agreement to ensure alignment of Terms and Conditions and to ensure all risks are mitigated or transfer.
• Manage effective reporting of the subcontractor agreement performance to the Project Director
• Ensure effective implementation of the risk management process within the commercial team and compliance with the overall project risk management strategy.
• To form a detailed understanding of the costs and make-up of costs on the project
• Management and control of project costs; and coordination (timely and accurate preparation) of the claim for invoicing to council
• Provision of guidance and support to the QS commercial teams; including reporting structures and requirements, forecasting, timetable guidance, transparency (especially variations and contingency)
• Project Management of key initiatives to improve the flow and transparency of financial information.
• Project forecasting, analysis & formulation of strategies, reporting in line with the timetable, timely identification of issues and recommendations for action to be taken, link to the program via QS Commercial team.
• Management and reporting on variations, contingency, risk & opportunities.
• Creation, maintenance and review of templates, standards and registers to ensure good governance and record keeping.

Key Competencies:

• University degree in Commerce, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline
• Suitable experience in a similar role within a Construction or Infrastructure environment
• Extensive experience in construction projects (10 years +)
• Demonstrated ability to motivate/manage multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and sound negotiation skills.
• Sound legal, commercial and risk management knowledge
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
