The Opportunity
Due to our Acciona, MACA, AECOM Alliance being selected as the preferred bidder on the northern package we are seeking to appoint a Temporary Works Coordinator working out of the Collingwood project office with some site visit's as required.
The Project
The ACCIONA, MACA & AECOM Alliance has been selected as the preferred bidder on the North East Link Project (Northern Package). This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Work with the Temporary Works Manager to coordinate implementation of the temporary works procedures and processes.
- Assist in the vetting and contractual engagement of temporary works designers and temporary works proof engineers.
- Engage suitably qualified and experienced Temporary Works Designers to design the temporary works based on best value for money.
- Support the Delivery Team in identifying temporary works requirements and developing solutions that enhance safety constructability and value for money.
- Ensure designs are developed with consideration to construction staging / methodology and that briefs accurately include all relevant constraints and requirements.
- Coordinate the engagement of suitably qualified temporary works designers to complete required designs
- Collaborate and coordinate with a wide range of stake holders and maintain relationships across the project not limited to NELP and client representatives, design consultants, delivery teams
- Maintain all requirements and documentation across Safety, Quality, Environmental and sustainability
Experience Required
- You will have a tertiary education in civil/structural Engineering or equivalent
- You will be experienced in understanding technical design of temporary work's as it relates to constructability on major projects
- Highly developed communication skills and able to work with construction and engineering teams proactively
- Advanced forward planning and staging experience in civil infrastructure
