About the Opportunity
Due to continued strong growth and the award of several new projects supporting critical infrastructure across NSW, we are looking for a Safety Manager to join our team in Newcastle.
As the Safety Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the H&S Management System throughout the project and ensuring its adoption through various methods.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Motivate, lead and mentor project personnel to foster positive team dynamics, morale and outcomes.
- Ensure optimised integration of the safety and construction teams.
- Develop and implement plans, sub plans, procedures, and risk registers.
- Implement and communicate incident and emergency response requirements.
- Complete and present regular safety performance reporting to key stakeholders
- Ensure auditing & compliance of the WHS Plan, Policies and Procedures
Capabilities & Experience you will need to have:
- Relevant industry experience.
- Relevant Safety qualifications (tertiary preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, standards, and their interpretation.
- Well developed negotiation and influencing skills
- Proactive attitude with excellent time management.
