The Role:
The Leading Hand Mechanic will ensure a smooth running of day-to-day operations. Mentoring the workshop team (including apprentices) to ensure that the maintenance occurs on all equipment and it occurs in a timely and efficient manner.
The Leading Hand and the team will be servicing, repairing, and maintaining our diesel fleet vehicles, our machinery including Elevated Work Platform's (EWP), tippers, chippers and specialised all-terrain equipment.
The Leading Hand Mechanic will also assist the State fleet maintenance manager with workshop operations, be able to download service and parts information, ensue correct testing is carried out and perform other administrative tasks as required.
You will have strong communication skills and the desire to guide and engage a team to deliver exceptional service and productivity for our clients.

What we need in return:
- Mechanical qualification (Cert III Minimum)
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and experience in building solid relationships and supervising an efficient running Workshop.
- Ability to work to and deliver to deadlines.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and passion for delivery

- A valid unrestricted driver’s licence
- MR/HR truck licence or willingness to obtain one
