The Senior Professional role contributes to the sales, profitability and management of work and people. It provides leadership to professional and technical staff on complex, large scale projects that deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM clients. It is also involved in regular client liaison, business development and winning work. Principals provide mentoring and career development for team members. Take lead and collaborate with other parties, to produce project deliverables to agreed deadlines and standards.

  • Provide high quality service to internal and/or external customers in all areas of responsibility.
  • Effectively manage any personnel and resources within his/her team whilst acting as lead on a project.
  • Lead production of deliverables in the areas of railway track and civil engineering and undertake review and checking for all disciplines as required..
  • Promote innovation and ensure the best engineering practices and design tools are applied.
  • Assist in the development of colleagues by applying high level of technical skill.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships at the project and broader organisational level and promote business development opportunities.
  • Assist in bid preparation and bid management for medium and large opportunities as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in general civil engineering background with experience in working for both government and private sector clients. Your civil design experience would include railway planning, design; operation and maintenance especially track alignment, railway earthworks and inter-relationship of track and civil disciplines with drainage, geotechnical, structures and all other associated disciplines.
  • Project experience in the various stages from feasibility studies, detailed design delivery, handover to operations and asset maintenance.
  • Knowledge of various engineering elements of a fully functional railway, including electrified passenger railway and/or pit to port heavy haul railway will be highly regarded. This includes understanding of interfaces and interactions with key disciplines such as terminals, maintenance facilities, signalling, communication and rolling stock and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated contribution to the delivery of successful railway related projects.
  • Communication skills – clear written and oral communication, able to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to influence others for change

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent overseas professional recognition is preferable
