ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the Football Compliance and Projects Lead is to mitigate risks to AFL Victoria affiliate programs through the implementation of best practice management, including compliance and operating systems which support the delivery of the role of AFL Victoria across the Community and Participation segments.

This role is responsible for progressing the game and its key stakeholders by researching and delivering on special project and developing initiatives and training which build the capacity of AFL Victoria affiliate Clubs at community level, and presents AFL Victoria events in a professional manner.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Development of Project TOR and Project Plans including Country Governance reform and ongoing evolution and CCSP practices audit and training program
  • Develop and implement policies and regulations to improve community football, with a focus on ongoing updates, as required
  • Explore and develop initiatives which provide benefits to community football and keep AFL Victoria at the forefront of sports governance and management
  • Develop and audit a single electronic depository for AFL VIC employees in all locations
  • Drive and audit compliance of procedures and processes in community football for:
    • Child Safety practices and compliances
    • Concussion Policy implementation and delivery in community football
    • Other programs
  • Ensure best practice in governance and management in community football
  • Monitor region and league compliance with CCSP Policy
  • Ensure best practice in CCSP Integrity Officers
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate CCSP Integrity Officers
  • Assess and report on ROI value for AFL VIC program investments
  • Manage event planning, content, presenters, and delivery
  • Scheduling training seminars
  • Conferences, forums etc., internal and external of Marvel Stadium
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role
  • Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

  • Extensive experience at a leadership level in sports management, business or relevant fields
  • Tertiary qualification/s in sports management, business, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder relationship building with community sporting clubs
  • Experience in the planning and delivery of training and education programs
  • Experience in project management and professional business practices
  • An understanding of Victorian community football structure and environment
  • Experience in conducting operational audits and reporting on compliance
  • Capabilities to support, advice, and provide direction to community football
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience with overseeing a budget and event planning
  • Experience in community sport management and or governance
