AirTrunk is a technology company with a powerful purpose - to scale and sustain the relentless growth of the region’s digital future. We do this by continuously redefining and delivering hyperscale data centres that meet the needs of our customers - the world’s most transformational companies. And we’re doing so sustainably, for today and tomorrow.

Having opened Australia’s first and largest hyperscale data centres in 2017, we set our eyes on rapid expansion and now operate a platform of hyperscale data centres across the APME region. With backing from our investors, including Blackstone, this is just the beginning…

Come join the A-Team at AirTrunk, where the cloud meets the ground.

Your Impact

As Commercial Manager based in our HQ in Sydney, you will report to the Associate Commercial Director and play a key role within the Development team, leading the negotiation, execution and ongoing management of critical contracts across AirTrunk's hyperscale data centre projects. Working closely with teams and leadership across APJ, you will make your mark in a number of ways:

  • You will lead complex contract negotiations, particularly MSAs with General Contractors and OSE vendors, ensuring commercial and legal positions are optimised and risk is effectively managed
  • You will act as a trusted commercial and contractual advisor to internal stakeholders, providing clear guidance on contract terms, risk allocation and negotiation strategy
  • You will help shape and continuously improve AirTrunk's contracting frameworks, templates, governance and procurement practices at scale

What you'll do

  • Lead the drafting, review, negotiation and execution of contracts, with a strong focus on risk allocation, legal robustness and commercial outcomes
  • Drive MSA and key supplier negotiations, working closely with internal stakeholders to align on strategy, positions and approvals
  • Manage contractual correspondence, variations, claims and dispute resolution processes where required
  • Oversee contract governance processes, including approvals, compliance with internal frameworks and accurate documentation of negotiated positions
  • Support purchase order and cost management workflows, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and commercial intent
  • Provide clear, practical advice to Development, Finance and delivery teams on contractual matters, commercial risk and mitigation options
  • Identify, assess and proactively manage contractual risks and issues across the full project lifecycle
  • Contribute to the refinement of standard contract templates, negotiation playbooks and procurement practices to increase consistency, speed and commercial discipline

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience managing contracts or holding a commercial management role within complex construction, engineering or development environments
  • Experience leading contract negotiations and managing commercial and contractual issues across the project lifecycle
  • Certificate or degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, Business/Commerce or a related discipline
  • Strong commercial acumen, high attention to detail and the ability to balance risk allocation, legal robustness and practical business outcomes
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear advice to diverse internal teams
  • Highly collaborative, resourceful and comfortable operating in fast-paced project environments across cultures and geographies

Include 4 key must-have criteria for this role (completed by Hiring Manager, not published externally)

  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts or commercial outcomes in complex construction, engineering or development environments
  • Strong experience negotiating MSAs or key supplier agreements with General Contractors and/or major vendors
  • Sound understanding of risk allocation, contractual governance, variations, claims and dispute resolution
  • Clear, concise communicator who can advise and influence Development, Finance, Legal and delivery stakeholders
