Want to be a part of Asia Pacific & Middle East's (APME) largest, most innovative, and rapidly growing data centre company?

AirTrunk is a hyperscale data centre company with a powerful purpose - to scale and sustain the relentless growth of the region’s digital future. We do this by continuously redefining and delivering the digital infrastructure that meet the needs of our customers - the world’s most transformational companies. And we’re doing so sustainably, for today and tomorrow.

Having opened Australia’s first and largest hyperscale data centres in 2017, we set our eyes on rapid expansion and now operate a platform of hyperscale data centres across the APME region. With backing from our investors, including Blackstone, this is just the beginning…

Come join the A-Team at AirTrunk, where the cloud meets the ground.

A Snapshot

At AirTrunk, we’ve all come together to deliver Data Centres that meet and grow with the needs of our large cloud, content and enterprise customers.

Water management is a key pillar of our sustainability commitments. We design and operate our Data Centers to source water responsibly, reduce reliance on potable water where appropriate, limit usage in water-stressed areas and improve water productivity to support energy, carbon and community outcomes. Through strong water stewardship, we seek to balance business growth with catchment-level resilience, responsible resource use and measurable sustainability impact.

In this leadership role, you will define and lead AirTrunk’s water strategy across the portfolio, managing a team of managers to deliver sustainable, commercially robust and operationally resilient water outcomes.

You will make your mark in a number of ways:

  • Set and own the regional water strategy for Data Center sites, ensuring scalable, sustainable and resilient water supply solutions across existing and future markets.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of managers responsible for utility connections, upgrades, alternative supply options, water infrastructure delivery and site-level optimisation.
  • Oversee portfolio-wide assessment of water stress, supply risk and regulatory conditions, translating insights into long-term strategic plans and investment priorities.
  • Build executive-level partnerships with utilities, authorities, customers and solution providers to unlock recycled, industrial and alternative water sourcing opportunities.
  • Define the roadmap to water positivity, including on-site and off-site water solutions, reuse strategies, discharge optimisation and measurable sustainability outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a water stewardship framework that aligns site-level water decisions with regional sustainability objectives, local catchment conditions, stakeholder expectations and long-term operational resilience.
  • Establish governance, performance metrics and reporting cadence for water usage, metering, efficiency, risk management and delivery performance across the portfolio.
  • Influence design, site selection, development, commercial and operations decisions to ensure water strategy is embedded into major business and customer commitments.

Your Day to Day

  • Lead a team of managers, setting priorities, removing barriers, allocating resources and ensuring consistent delivery across markets and projects.
  • Represent AirTrunk with senior utility, government, customer and strategic partner stakeholders to shape water supply, infrastructure and sustainability outcomes.
  • Provide executive oversight of water projects, including supply connections and upgrades, infrastructure investments, commercial contracts, risk mitigation and delivery milestones.
  • Partner with customers at senior levels to understand water requirements, influence commitments and ensure AirTrunk’s water strategy supports customer growth and sustainability expectations.
  • Translate water sustainability strategy into practical implementation plans, including recycled water adoption, water reuse, efficiency initiatives, catchment partnerships, performance targets and transparent reporting.
  • Work with Design, Site Selection, Development, Commercial and Operations leaders to align water decisions with business strategy, technical requirements and long-term operating performance.
  • Prepare and present executive-level recommendations, investment papers, governance updates and performance reports for senior leadership forums.
  • Establish operating rhythms for the team, including portfolio reviews, cross-functional escalation, performance tracking and continuous improvement of water strategy delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimally 10 years of relevant experience e.g. water utilities, water project development and delivery, water sustainability water infrastructure services, water consulting, water treatment and recycled water, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the water supply landscape in several of our Asia-Pacific and Japan markets (including Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan)
  • Strong expertise in water supply design principles and various water technologies such as water treatment/recycling/recovery/capture
  • Relationships and networks in the water industry in the above markets
  • Strong analytical thinking and comfortable with data analysis and presentation (especially in PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to the regional team.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent large-scale projects or programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ie. Build and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, contractors, suppliers, customer representatives, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
