A Snapshot
As Commissioning (Cx) Manager reporting to our Services and Commissioning Director (based in Sydney), you will work closely with our Development team, making an impact in a number of ways:
- Managing personnel and logistic functions related to successful commissioning of AirTrunk data centres
- Ensuring the successful completion of commissioning activities for AirTrunk’s customers in alignment with external and internal client requirements and technical standards.
Your Day to Day
- Liaise with AirTrunk appointed commissioning agents, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and AirTrunk operations and engineering teams to plan and implement commissioning activities
- Collaborate with AirTrunk design, operations, and delivery teams to ensure safety, quality and technical requirements are met for in-flight projects
- Review and provide direction to vendors and contractors with respect to commissioning plans, scripts, and programs
- Establish and coordinate the commissioning schedule with general contractors, vendors and Commissioning agent to ensure completion prior to RFS date
- Review and provide feedback to engineers and designers on the technical aspects of design with a focus on quality, time and cost required to commission optimally
- Act as the decision maker on behalf of AirTrunk to coordinate and resolve technical issues during commissioning
- Report back to management on the status of commissioning activities and key risks
- Attend commissioning, construction and design meetings as required
- Encourage and educate members of the commissioning team
- Promptly respond to requests from clients, specifically the client Cx manager, for technical information regarding the AirTrunk product. Provide incident reports, root cause analysis and explanatory narratives in response to these questions
- Collaborate with customers to advise on commissioning progress
- Ensure submission of MOP’s occur on a timely basis in line with the commissioning schedule and assist with the risk mitigation of commissioning activities surrounding live environments
- Contribute to technical and safety initiatives conducted by AirTrunk including electrical power usage optimization, diesel usage optimization and safety in design workshops
Requirements
- Ideally, a degree/diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering
- 3+ years' experience in commissioning of data centres or other critical environment facilities.
- Strong technical and commercial problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in successfully collaborating with Australia based vendors, consultants and contractors including training, developing, setting clear expectations, and handling potential issues
- Excellent time and site management skills together with high attention to detail
- Exceptionally flexible and forward-thinking as you have to be ready for a continuous change in direction
- Results focused and a “get things done” approach.
