A Snapshot

As a Senior Project Manager, you will report to the Project Director and work closely with therest of the Development team, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • Work with AirTrunk team to develop scope and designs for the seamless implementation and execution of contract.
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring the safe delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Providing strong leadership, strategic planning, and coordination with cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
  • Liaise with and support the Development team & Pre-flight team on preconstruction activities to ensure there is seamless transition once projects are implemented.
  • Drive and challenge the General Contractor and Consultant Teams to achieve best for project results.
  • Lead your team and coordinate with other team across the campus to ensure all utilities, infrastructure, OSE and data hall works are executed as required for the various customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities to be performed by the Secondee include but are not limited to:

  • Project Leadership: Take ownership, lead, and manage the construction phases of data center facilities, ensuring alignment with AirTrunk values and objectives.
  • Safety: Lead the construction team in establishing and maintaining a culture that promotes safety to the highest standards with the aim of constant improvement and safe delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all installations are of the utmost quality and defect free at handover stage.
  • Programme & Milestone Tracking: Working closely with venders including management and monitoring of overall project programme to ensure adherence to key contract milestones and deadlines including early identification of possible programme risks and establishing mitigations as required.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Support team with reviewing of vendor claims, including payment claims, invoices, variations, and time related claims.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordination and interaction with various project level stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, vendors, & internal team members to ensure the successful delivery of all project phases. Coordination with local authorities and utilities.
  • Risk Management: Identify & report potential risks and issues including partnering with external parties to develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns. Ensure onsite mitigation measures are being implemented and tracked.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to project management team on project progress including key risks and issues.  Ensuring reporting documents are completed with required timelines.
  • Commissioning & Handover: Provide support to the Services and Commissioning teams to ensure successful testing and commissioning, as well as coordination with Operations on final stages of construction and handing over of the facility.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage General Contractor (GC) contract for cost, time, safety and quality;
  • Manage Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE) contract for cost, time, safety and quality as well as manage the design, procurement, delivery and general co-ordination of OSE into the works;
  • Manage consultant contracts for cost, time, safety and quality ensuring the design programme is achieved, design satisfies Air Trunk and Customer requirements and all supporting consultant efforts are provided to enable completion and certification of the works;
  • Design issue resolution and co-ordination with AirTrunk design manager;
  • Liaise between GC, Consultants and Customer to ensure any Customer design requirements and design changes are communicated and incorporated into the works;
  • Trade letting reviews, co-ordination with the GC and Quantity Surveyor (QS) to assess and approve trade lettings in a timely manner;
  • Co-ordinate and review the cost management with the QS and AirTrunk development team including monthly cost reporting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Manage programmedevelopmentwith GC, OSE and consultants including identification of risks and opportunities developing mitigation strategies for risks and realising opportunities;
  • Assist Contract team withGC and Consultant claims and variations, specifically entitlement and assessment;
  • Assist Senior PM with all reporting requirements including fortnightly project status, customer reporting and programme reporting;
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate commissioning and handover of the project

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of construction management and or delivery experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical/electrical/civil engineering or construction management
  • Experience working for a Data Centre operator/previous hyperscale or cloud provider in the APAC market.
  • Experience working on fast track, large scale projects in a GC, consultant or developer capacity in the APAC market
  • Exceptionally flexible and forward-thinking
  • Experience managing high performing teams and coordinating works in a campus environment
  • Goal oriented and have “get things done” attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills in English
  • Thrive with structured autonomy
