Role Summary

  • The Project Quality Manager (PQM) - SYD3 is the project‑level owner of AirTrunk’s Global Minimum Standard for Quality (GMS‑Q) and is directly responsible for both quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) execution throughout the SYD3 Data Centre project.
  • This role provides hands‑on delivery of inspections, testing verification, issue escalation, documentation reviews and quality risk identification, while also performing structured QA audits, validating GC QA plans, and ensuring ITP/ITC frameworks are executed correctly. The PQM integrates GMS‑Q requirements across all disciplines architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and fire systems and ensures that installation works, materials, workmanship and documentation comply with AirTrunk’s technical, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • The PQM Perform project inspections and verification checks, while coordinating closely with GC QA/QC staff, consultants and AirTrunk internal stakeholders to drive high-quality outcomes.

 Key Responsibilities

GMSQ Delivery & Quality Governance

  • Act as the Project GMSQ Owner, embedding the standard across planning, construction, testing activities and Handover.
  • Interpret GMSQ functions into practical site execution actions, inspection priorities and documentation expectations.
  • Lead project readiness preparations for governance gates, quality reviews and compliance checkpoints.
  • Ensure GC QA plans, ITPs, and execution methodologies meet GMSQ and AirTrunk TR requirements.

Quality Assurance (QA) (Auditing, Reviews & System Compliance)

  • Audit and report on GC QA Plans, ITPs and hold/witness point compliance frameworks.
  • Conduct QA audits of documentation, inspection records, testing evidence, materials compliance and installation verification processes.
  • Review GC quality processes for completeness, accuracy, consistency and alignment with AirTrunk standards.
  • Support Engineering, Design, Commissioning and Operations with technical quality insight and issue resolution.

Quality Control (QC) (Inspections & Field Verification)

  • Conduct site inspections across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, security and fire systems.
  • Execute verification of installations against design intent, drawings, specifications and TRs.
  • Perform and document hold/witness point inspections according to ITP requirements.
  • Inspect FirstofKind (FOK) and mockups, providing detailed findings and improvement recommendations.
  • Raise NCRs, observations and corrective actions with full traceability and follow-through.
  • Track rework, verify closure, and identify recurring defect themes for proactive mitigation.

Documentation, Records & Handover Readiness

  • Audit GC documentation quality including ITP records, test sheets, inspection evidence, materials certs and asbuilts.
  • Perform client handover documentation quality checks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, traceability and compliance.
  • Validate commissioning quality records, test reports and systems documentation.
  • Ensure all quality evidence aligns with Technical Requirements (TRs), GMSQ, authority requirements and client deliverables.

Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Produce weekly quality updates, dashboards and key indicators for the project management team.
  • Report NCR trends, defect performance, ITP progress and GMSQ compliance levels.
  • Contribute data and insights to regional and global quality reporting channels.

Stakeholder Coordination & GC Engagement

  • Work closely with GC QA/QC teams, subcontractor supervisors and consultants to influence quality culture.
  • Lead quality coordination discussions, issue-resolution sessions and early risk identification forums.
  • Support AirTrunk Delivery, Engineering and Commissioning teammates with technical quality input.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify emerging or potential quality risks early and propose practical mitigation strategies.
  • Feed project-level risks into the Regional and Global Quality Risk Registers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8–12 years' experience in construction QA/QC delivery or engineering roles.
  • Strong multi‑discipline technical understanding (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire).
  • Demonstrated experience performing site inspections, issuing NCRs, verifying works and reviewing documentation.
  • Strong understanding of QA frameworks, ITPs, testing requirements, auditing, and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
  • Experience in data centres or large-scale technical infrastructure highly desirable.
  • Competent in Procore, Visibuilt, Smartsheet or equivalent digital QA/QC tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, problem solving and contractor management capabilities.
