About the Role:

An opportunity exists to join Alcoa’s Global Procurement organisation in an important leadership role supporting our Australian Operations. In this role you will utilise your procurement expertise and leadership skills to drive competitive advantage. In this role you will support short and long-term initiatives and business critical priorities.

As an integral member of our regional Procurement Lead team, you will provide procurement and commercial leadership and direction to our various locations in WA including the refineries and mine sites and smelter in Portland, Victoria. In addition to managing a team of Procurement professionals, your key contributions and specific activities will include:

  • Partnering with the business to maximise commercial advantage and adding value with the deployment of effective sourcing strategies.

  • Development and implementation of strategies to minimise risk from Supplier Capacity and Supply Chain constraints.

  • Communicating, reporting, and managing the interface between Procurement and the locations to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

  • Advising on expected benefits from supplier commercial agreements, including agreed performance outcomes, agreed commercial initiatives and process improvements including identification and resolution of supplier disputes and claims.

  • Leading and supporting the development of key supplier and customer relationships.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Strategic Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar senior Procurement or Supply Chain role having lead teams towards driving actionable results.

  • Achievements in driving effective Procurement strategies within an industrial, manufacturing or resources environment.

  • Knowledge and experience in the way processing plants operate with a track record in identifying opportunities for improvements.

  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels of the organisation coupled with the acumen to handle complex situations through to resolution.
