About the Role:
Alcoa’s WA Mining Team is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Emergency Services team. As the Emergency Services Supervisor, you will play a vital role in upholding our commitment to workplace safety.
You will provide expert emergency services advice to operational areas and senior leadership, oversee the maintenance and operation of fixed fire systems, coordinate the on-site emergency response team, ensure adequate staffing and operational readiness of the emergency services team, support WA Operations in developing and implementing key execution strategies, analyse incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures, and maintain strong relationships with relevant government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of emergency response operations, ensuring timely and effective response to incidents.
Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to the Emergency Services Officer team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.
Demonstrating exceptional communication, computer, and problem-solving skills, effectively conveying information, utilizing technology, and analysing complex situations.
Working independently and effectively under minimal supervision, taking initiative, and making sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

What you can bring to the role:
Certificate IV in Health Care (HLT41115) with post course experience as a minimum.
Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (RII30715) or Certificate III in Public Safety -Firefighting and Emergency Operations (PUA30613)
Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005).
Clear experience in a similar role of First Aid, Health Care or Emergency Services.
A current police clearance.
HR-B Licence
Additional qualifications and experience within security will be well regarded.
You should hold or be willing to complete Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation. Alcoa will provide support in obtaining accreditation.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership position or have worked in a similar operation or industry to Alcoa

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.
