About the Role:

Seeking your next professional challenge? Be immersed in the rewarding career that Alcoa offers. The current opportunity is for a suitably qualified and experienced Engineer to join our Wagerup Refinery as a Senior Asset Integrity Engineer on a 12 month Fixed Term basis!

You play an integral role in shaping and mentoring a team of Engineers to support Wagerup’s operations and maintenance. A thorough knowledge of engineering principles and strategy is sought, in addition to providing accountability for the following:

  • Leadership and management of Engineering Asset integrity program - specifically pressure vessels, piping, tanks, structural and civil assets.

  • Coaching engineers on the engineering and legal requirements for tank, Pressure Vessel and crane inspections and repairs.

  • Supporting the risk management function for the location

  • Managing Civil / structural budget and assist addressing strategic asset integrity issues.

  • You know about process safety and apply best process safety related practices in the day-to-day operation

All of this is offered on a Monday through Friday roster, with the added flexibility of a leisure day every four-week period, drive-in-drive-out within the local Peel Region.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering,

  • Previous experience in maintenance, reliability or plant engineering will be highly regarded, as will be experience in heavy process industries,

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to connect, work with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation,

  • Hands-on coaching and support in order facilitate well-adapted and consistent execution of the systems and engineering processes,

  • Motivation and a desire to learn new skills, and have a sound track record in pro-active problem solving.
