Are you a sales professional who is passionate about creating impact? This might be the role for you – a chance to increase the adoption of a world first technology, saving people money and the environment.
About Allume
We're empowering millions of people to access clean, affordable energy.
We're a Melbourne-based technology company, and our world-first technology, SolShare, unlocks rooftop solar for apartment residents. This smart hardware connects a single rooftop solar system to multiple units and common areas, fairly distributing solar energy so everyone gets their fair share. SolShare helps reduce both energy bills and carbon emissions.
SolShare removes the technical and ownership barriers that have long prevented apartment households from accessing rooftop solar. We built it here in Melbourne, and it's now connected over 13,000 apartments across Australia, the UK and the US. We're doubling our installation base each year, and we're aiming to connect over 100,000 apartments by 2029. SolShare now also brings shared battery optimisation to apartment buildings.
We're growing quickly, and our technology is becoming more capable as we scale. That means we need great people to help us build what comes next.

About the role
You’ll guide apartment buildings from first enquiry to signed contract – helping owners, owners’ committees and strata managers bring rooftop solar to their building with our SolShare technology.
Getting solar onto an apartment building means bringing a lot of people along: owners, committees, strata managers, installers and funding bodies. You’ll be the person who keeps that journey moving – explaining how SolShare works and what it means for residents, coordinating site assessments and quotes with our certified SolShare installation partners, and steering funding applications through to approval.
You’ll work closely with our commercial, technical and installation teams, and hand each project over to installation once funding is approved and contracts are signed.
You’ll manage your own pipeline with a high degree of independence. This role suits someone who enjoys building relationships, can make the complex simple and gets real satisfaction from seeing a project through to a signed contract.
What you’ll do
- Be the main point of contact for new customers – apartment owners, owners’ committees, strata managers and building owners – from first enquiry through to signed contract.
- Respond to new enquiries quickly, qualify leads and work out whether a building is a good fit for SolShare.
- Explain how SolShare works and what it means for residents – lower energy bills, with everyone getting their fair share of the solar – in plain language tailored to each audience.
- Coordinate site assessments, system designs and quotes with our certified SolShare installation partners and our technical team.
- Present proposals to owners’ committees and at owners’ meetings, and help committees build the support they need to approve a project.
- Guide customers through grant, rebate and finance options, and prepare and manage funding applications through to approval.
- Manage contracts through to execution, working with customers, strata managers and our internal team.
- Hand projects over smoothly to our installation team once funding is approved and contracts are signed.
- Keep your pipeline accurate and up to date in HubSpot, and forecast your deals reliably.
- Share what you hear from customers to help improve our sales process, materials and product.
- Represent Allume at industry events, strata forums and webinars when needed.
- Hunt for new business and build your own pipeline .
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to have worked in solar or energy before, and you don’t need to tick every box. What matters most is that the role excites you, you enjoy building relationships and you can guide people confidently through a big decision.
You’ll have:
- Experience in a customer-facing sales, business development or account management role, ideally with long sales cycles and several decision-makers.
- A track record of meeting or beating targets.
- The ability to explain technical and financial information clearly to people with no background in it.
- Confidence presenting to groups and answering questions and concerns in the room.
- Strong organisation skills – you can keep many projects moving at once without losing track of the detail.
- Experience preparing applications, proposals or contracts with close attention to detail.
- Experience using a CRM, such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening owners’ meetings.
- Ability to travel interstate occasionally.
- An understanding that this isn’t a 9-5 role – sometimes our customers need us outside of these times.
- The ability to self-motivate to hit sales targets.
Nice to have
It’d be great if you also have experience with:
- Strata, property management or the apartment sector.
- Solar, batteries or the wider energy sector.
- Government grant programs or green finance.
- Selling to owners’ committees, body corporates or social housing providers.
- Using AI tools in your day-to-day work.
- Working in a growing company where the right answer isn’t always obvious.
Right to work
You’ll need valid, unrestricted work rights in Australia. We can’t offer visa sponsorship.
Interview process
We aim to respond within two weeks, and the full process usually takes four to six weeks. There are three stages:
- Round 1: Online interview (15 minutes) – a short conversation about your experience, what you’re looking for and why Allume interests you.
- Round 2: Role deep dive (1 hour) – an in-person discussion with the hiring manager about your sales experience and how you’d guide a building from first enquiry to signed contract.
- Round 3: Values and team alignment (1.5 hours) – a final conversation with the hiring manager and the wider team, so both sides can work out whether Allume is the right fit.
