Position

Allume Energy is continuing to grow our product development team as we design & industrialise new products for the global market. Our product, the SolShare, spans the mechanical, electrical, electronics, firmware, and web software engineering spheres.

We are looking for a driven, adaptable, and experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to drive and deliver the product and solutions that will allow us to scale globally.

The role will require persistence to solve problems, the initiative to identify product improvement opportunities, and the diligence to follow through on development and verification activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and development of new SolShare iterations with a focus on high volume manufacture, product cost, reliability & market fit, including both whole product & core-technology focus areas.
  • Project planning and delivery of electronics system from concept through to verification and industrialisation
  • Prototype, test & verification of an integrated product, with a focus on the electronics system
  • Planning and execution of regulatory testing and compliance for global markets
  • Continuous improvement of electronics design processes & tools, raising the bar for the quality and efficiency of the team.
  • Maintain and support existing product portfolio with design updates, obsolescence management, and QA activities
  • Supporting customer facing sales & service teams with problem solving & issue resolution

Requirements

  • Experience in electronics development from concept through to transfer to manufacture, including project planning, milestones & scheduling.
  • Experience with schematic design & layout of electrical - electronics systems (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Hands on experience in designing, prototyping & testing electronics hardware systems
  • Willingness to work hands on in an electronics lab environment for prototype & test
  • Collaborative team-based approach with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with technical problem solving, conducting root cause assessment & thorough investigation
  • Resilience and adaptability to work in a fast moving and early-stage business
  • Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, or similar engineering degree
  • Melbourne based

Nice to have

  • 5+ years experience in multi-disciplinary product development
  • Experience in electrical/electronics architecture design including consideration of product trade-offs
  • Experience in product verification, including EMC compliance, safety testing etc.
  • Experience in transfer to manufacture
  • Experience in electronics product design for high volume markets
  • Knowledge of and experience working with grid-connected electrical and/or renewable energy systems
  • Knowledge of and experience working with power electronics
  • Experience working in a risk-management & quality controlled environment
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams particularly firmware, software and mechanical engineers
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a task
