Your future role

An opportunity has become available for a Cleaning Superintendent to join our Fleet Maintenance team on our dynamic QNGR project. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager - Outstations and will primarily be responsible for supervising and leading a team of train service contractors with an interface to the Operations team. The team will perform planned and corrective cleaning on the QNGR fleet to the correct standards of safety and quality to ensure equipment aesthetic condition and availability to achieve the operational plan. In this role you will also provide Superintendent support and direction to the QNGR Out Stations Team Leaders on back shifts and weekends. Your core hours will primarily be night shift and are off-peak orientated.

You will also be responsible for;

  • Supervising and supporting Contractor cleaning staff to meet train cleaning requirements.
  • Managing cleaning and maintenance activities such as Decanting, Fogging, Internal and External cleans, Graffiti cleaning, Windscreen cleans and other QNGR aesthetic conditions.
  • Conducting quality checks and confirming scopes of work in work orders are executed accurately based on in-field assessments.
  • Providing support to planning for units requiring cleaning work.
  • Attending cleaning audits at several locations across the SEQ rail network.
  • Supporting the Outstations and Wulkuraka Maintenance teams as required.

  • Have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team and/or contractors.
  • The ability participate in both night and days shift, and work from several locations around the SEQ rail network.
  • Exposure to fleet maintenance or similar environment.
  • A relevant trade background with maintenance experience will be highly regarded.
