About the role:
Reporting directly into the Assistant Treasurer - Operations, the Senior Treasury Analyst – Middle Office is responsible for supporting the Finance and Treasury business strategies by managing the Group Treasury Middle Office function, performing Group Treasury accounting and reporting requirements, delivering technical accounting advice on financial instruments, and supporting the broader Treasury team and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Group Treasury Middle Office function and maintaining robust Group Treasury controls environment, which includes but is not limited to reviewing and approving daily Treasury funding reconciliations and settlements. This also includes approving derivative trades, bank sweeps, and ad hoc payments processed through online banking platforms.
- Performing Treasury accounting services, which includes but is not limited month-end reconciliations, bookkeeping, and management and statutory reporting on Treasury related transactions to foreign exchange, interest rate, debt, banking, and insurance. This also includes providing technical Treasury accounting advice and analysis on derivative and non-derivative financial instruments and hedge accounting treatments.
- Preparing semi-annual Treasury statutory disclosures and analysis as part of half-year and full year end requirements. This includes liaising closely with internal and external auditors and supporting the business on internal and external audit requirements.
- Preparing monthly Treasury performance management reporting to senior management and the business
- Assisting with Treasury budgeting and forecasting requirements for the Group
- Delivering Treasury Board reporting requirements for Ampol Board meetings
- Updating and monitoring static data changes in Treasury Management System (e.g., facility amendments, new counterparties)
- Supporting Treasury team and the business on contract reviews, continuous improvement initiatives and project obligations. This includes continuously improving policies, reports and processes for Treasury.
About you:
You are a team player and driven individual who enjoys working in an ever changing and fast paced corporate environment and will bring well-honed relationship and stakeholder management skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to proactive investigation and have a continuous improvement and growth mindset.
Key skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance and must be CA/CPA qualified
- Previous Treasury experience and/or 3-5 years in a Finance-related role
- Proven ability using accounting controls and financial systems is essential (including hedge accounting)
- SAP experience would be advantageous
- Proficient written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong organisational and time management skills
