About the role:
The Space & Range team are integral to the delivery of the Merchandise strategy. In this role you will be working on key tasks such as micro and macro space management which has a direct impact on the profitability of our retail stores. The role is responsible for creating planograms to support the merchandise strategy, a key component being store segmentation, along with understanding category specific strategy and insights to tailor planograms for our retail stores.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Space & Range Manager, Head of Planning to analyse range review performance and publish and present reporting with stakeholders.
- Create and run reports as required on all master data within JDA & SAPBW
- Support Buyers to deliver and develop category specific planograms that meet the Merchandise segmentation strategy.
- Identify Macro space plans for stores and provide recommendations with based on merchandising principles, data and needs for the business.
- Support development of new retail formats, i.e., MetroGo macro and micro space planning
- Respond to operational queries, and act as a trusted advisor to enable stakeholders to understand timelines, complex issues to all aspects related to space and range planning.
About you
You will be a strong team player with proven ability to motivate and achieve team goals while working autonomously. As a problem solver, you will demonstrate the ability to understand business requirements, assess space needs, provide advice and analysis to relevant stakeholders. As a strong communicator, you will build effective relationships to ensure a high level of collaboration is maintained across the business.
Key skills and experience:
- Tertiary degree (B Commerce or equivalent technical degree) is desirable, but not essential.
- Worked in a space environment within merchandising / buying / commercial industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience using JDA (Blue Yonder) suite and/or other Space Planning tools.
- Capability to manage time and workload independently and to cope with multiple priorities and the varying demands of a seasonal business.
- Ability to organise, and lead meeting forums with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to interpret data and financial modelling to provide recommendations on space.
