About the role:

The purpose of this position is to develop and optimise inspection programmes aimed at improving and ensuring the integrity and reliability of all static equipment, associated devices and support structures at the Lytton Oil Refinery by ensuring that all items are fabricated, installed, modified, and repaired in accordance with the relevant codes, standards, specifications and regulations in order for them to remain safe, reliable and fit for continued service.

This role will work closely with Operations and Maintenance Coordinators, Maintenance Planning Team, and Engineering support services to ensure inspections are executed in a manner that meets the required targets taking account of Availability, Reliability and Safety, within the agreed budget parameters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-service inspections on static equipment and structures as required and document findings in the RBI database and Inspection document management system.
  • Develop and implement RBI mitigations and inspection strategies for static equipment and associated devices.
  • Monitor performance of critical process and corrosion monitoring parameters for changes that may impact on reliability and integrity of static equipment.
  • Ensure scheduled inspections and IRR notifications have clearly defined inspection activities and scope of works to enable timely planning and scheduling.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on inspection condition assessments, remaining life, fitness for service and corrective actions.
  • Participate in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) reviews of static equipment and associated devises.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across stakeholder groups to ensure priorities are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Provide input into the Unit Reliability Brief (URB) process by timely identification of bad actors and end of life equipment.
  • Actively participate in planning and scheduling meetings to ensure inspection priorities are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for own personal safety, care for the health and safety of others and maintain compliance with site critical safety rules.

Skills and experience:

Essential:

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in In-service Inspection of pressure equipment in oil refining, petrochemical, oil and gas or related industry
  • AICIP certified or equivalent In-service Pressure Equipment Inspector.
  • Sound technical knowledge of inspection and NDT techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant codes and standards, inspection techniques and Risk Based Inspection methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of EH&S requirements for industry.
  • Sound knowledge of materials, corrosion mechanisms, and corrosion monitoring techniques.
  • Computer literacy in maintenance and business applications.
