About the role:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be a crucial part of Ampol’s Business to Business (B2B) division under our Fuel Supply Chain Business Unit. We are looking for an experienced individual able to help us develop a defined pipeline of selective growth prospects within this sector by identifying new business opportunities that align to Ampol’s sustainability goals.
We are looking for a true ‘’hunting’’ BDM with a natural drive to generate new business and build strong and long-lasting relationships with potential new customers by developing a pipeline for our commercial business (fuel, diesel, lubricants, fuel cards among others).
Key responsibilities:
- Represent Ampol and develop key relationships with key local and global entities represented in market to support targeted local and international growth.
- Support development and implementation of the commercial new business strategy.
- Taking a lead role in developing and Implementing the Customer Value Proposition that will differentiate Ampol from its competitors within this channel to market.
- Be the “Ampol face” to the industry bodies that support the Commercial networks.
- Provide business development support to the National Sales Manager and Regional Sales Managers that aligned to Ampol growth strategy.
Key skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Engineering, Business, Finance, or Marketing would be seen as an advantage.
- 5+ years sales or commercial management experience.
- Compliant with an understanding of Australian Competition & Consumer Commission requirements
- A proven track record in successful business development from conception and strategy development to execution.
- Thorough working knowledge of Fuels and lubricant Market
- Innovative thinker with the ability to conceptualise, develop and implement complex proposals.
- High level customer and stakeholder relationship with an advance level of negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills including the capacity to relate and listen effectively to Technical and Business Managers.
