To do this, we have shaped an Integrated Planning and Operating Model (IPOM) function across our sites and our Brisbane Corporate Office (BCO). This function will provide the expertise and specialist knowledge to drive change, process efficiency and optimisation, and continuous improvement in order to transform our business.
Job Description
We are now recruiting for a Specialist: Modelling based in our Brisbane office. Reporting to the AAOM Program Manager this role will form a critical part in developing the Business Structure Performance models (BSP) and Operating Master Schedules (OMS) for BCO functions to model and strategise delivery of business expectations.
This role will be rewarding and varied and will include:
- Developing and maintaining Met Coal guidelines for the development and use of a BSP Model
- Ensure Met Coal has guidelines regarding the selection and usage of data for calibrating the BSP and obtaining historical performance
- Develop and maintain the BCO BSP
- Together with the Manager: Integrated Planning & Operating Model and the Specialist: Feedback, ensure Met Coal maintains a current set of Business Structures
- Together with the IPOM function team ensure guidelines are available for the selection of Business Structure measures (Effective, Efficiency and Sustainability measures)
- Work with the IPOM team to ensure adequate training is available for the use of the BSP Model.
- Ensure adequate capability is maintained in Met Coal guaranteeing BSP Models are always available for use
- Develop and maintain Met Coal templates for recording the BSP Model build parameters
- Develop and maintain Met Coal templates for recording BSP Model Scenario planning
- Govern Met Coal’s use of BSP’s, including the building and modification of BSP’s; use of BSP’s and training of employees to use the BSP’s.
- Ensure Production and Service Strategy templates integrate seamlessly with Met Coal BSP’s and OMS’s
Qualifications
Key to your success in this role will be your:
- Strong working knowledge of business improvement tools and techniques
- Existing business acumen and understanding of the commercial drivers of site performance
- Knowledge of financial metrics, budgeting tools, risk management techniques and critical controls
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and management for decision-making
- Experience in building, running and interpreting results from statistical business models
- Ability to manage work packages across a portfolio of project activities
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technical or Finance will be highly regarded.
