Our Reliability Technician at Sunrise Dam site plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance, safety, and longevity of equipment and systems of our fixed plant. Their main goal is to ensure that machinery and processes operate reliably, with minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an4/3 or 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie. It is expected to be both site and office based to analyse data collected in the field and coordinate/communicate outcome.
About the role
Are you a proactive planner who thrives on turning maintenance strategy into smooth, reliable execution? Join our team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine as an Electrical Maintenance Planner and play a key role in keeping our Processing Plant running at its best.
- Lead the asset health sub-contracted program on site (vibrations, oil analysis, thermography) of the fixed plant (mobile equipment done by others), review their reports and coordinate if further clarifications is expected, raise notifications in SAP ERP in ensuring proper associated coordination with relevant key stakeholders including vendors and escalate to the management any critical issues detected requiring immediate care
- Conduct ad-hoc inspections and condition monitoring including vibration, thermography, non-destructive inspections of components using dye-penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing equipment up-to-date; maintain regular contacts with our 2 lubricants technicians from Maintenance Execution
- Owner of the equipment vibrations analysis, thermography and lubricant registers being kept up-to-date and accurate
- Undertake investigations of equipment failures in using root causes analysis methodologies
- Lead minor reliability projects resulting from RCA actions which may arise
- Participate to the morning daily production meeting discussing past 24-hours issues and liaising with maintenance execution, production, metallurgy teams to address any day-to-day issues raised
- Develop and maintain good relationships with maintenance execution, planning, production, warehouse, inventory, procurement and vendors
- Provide ad-hoc training on failure analysis, condition monitoring and defect elimination to the maintenance execution and production teams
- Assist in the development of maintenance strategies with planners including Task Instruction documents
- Assist in conducting minor cost analysis using SAP data as technical justifications for supporting any technical solutions suggested
- Assist with reliability reporting and downtime record analysis
About you

- Mechanical Trade with continuous improvement mindset and safety leadership
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly experienced in condition monitoring to detect any early defect allowing planned work (Emerson CSI 2140 analyser, any certifications would be valuable such as VCAT, MLA, TCAT) and non-destructive inspections of components using dye-penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing equipment
- Strong knowledge of failure analysis (bearings, gears, corrosion, wear, coating, lubrication, …)
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation in using right methodology (ie 5why, Fishbone, Apollo, ICAM)
- Equipment experience includes ball mills, jaw and cone crushers, conveyors, slurry pumps, flotation, cyclones and thickeners
- Ability to deliver quality technical reports and document any work progress using emails, excel and word software
- Proficient using ERP SAP to perform historic analysis needed for RCA evidence collection and minor cost analysis
- Current WA Drivers Licence, A National Police Clearance, Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
