The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Contracts Specialist to join our ID Contracts Management team in Perth, WA or Brisbane, QLD on a Fixed Term 12 months basis.
Reporting to the Manager Contracts, you will be allocated to major growth projects to manage pipeline and energy asset infrastructure construction packages, and will play a key role in providing specialist support, advice and guidance to key project delivery stakeholders, such as Program Managers and Project Managers. During the pre award phase, you will form and negotiate agreements towards execution within the project timeline. During post award phase, you will contract manage executed agreements to ensure contract compliance, provide contract administration of all correspondence and contract deliverables, and counsel the project team on all contract related matters as the subject lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all contract rights and obligations are identified and influence stakeholders to ensure contract compliance
- Maintain all contract details, records, correspondence and contract deliverables within the Contracts Management System and ensure that it is updated progressively
- Provide strategic guidance to reduce commercial risks associated with existing and emerging time and cost pressures
- Expedite the coordination, review and finalisation of contractor’s contractual claims, including the provision of expert advice and application of reason in determining the contractor’s entitlement and compliance with the contract terms
- Develop accurate, clear and concise contract correspondence that satisfies contractual obligations and greatly influences desired outcomes
- Support the resolution of commercial conflict and contractual disputes
- Assist with internal and external project reporting
- Coordinate payment claim and payment certification processes in line with relevant Security of Payments Act
- Regularly interface with internal stakeholders and report key contract information to Project Manager(s)
- Attend internal and external progress meetings and advise on contract related matters as required
- Escalate major claims to Manager – Contracts in line with internal policy
- Apply contract interpretation and mechanics to support broader commercial strategies

Your background
- Tertiary qualified in either Finance, Business, Legal or Engineering
- Proven experience in a similar Contracts or Procurement role within a construction projects based environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret contracts and procurement documentation
