We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Regulatory Specialist to join us in our Strategy & Commercial Team in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office on a permanent basis.
Working as part of the Economic Regulation and External Policy team, you will be involved in a wide range of matters from helping develop and drive APA’s economic regulation strategy, assisting with the development of APA’s gas and electricity regulatory submissions processes, contributing to energy market policy issues and supporting the business in its growth and transition strategy through the provision of regulatory advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of APA’s Access Arrangements and Revenue Proposals, and participate in the consultation process with the relevant economic regulator
- Provide specialist advice to various APA business units and joint ventures on economic regulatory matters. This will include working collaboratively with the business to help identify and evaluate the regulatory risks, and contribute to recommendations on how to optimise regulatory outcomes and mitigate regulatory risks
- Actively monitor, assess, and respond to developments in regulatory legislation, rules and policy settings
- Lead a process of embedding process improvements and learnings into future regulatory engagements
- Represent APA on industry working groups and committees
Your background
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, business, law or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years economic regulatory experience within a major corporate, consultancy or regulatory agency
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills
- Demonstrable strength in stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent literacy and communications skills with the ability to put forward considered, rational and detailed arguments both in writing and verbally
- Strong attention to detail
