We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Regulatory Specialist to join us in our Strategy & Commercial Team in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Manager Regulatory, you will be playing an important role in the energy transition working as part of an experienced and collaborative economic regulatory team to optimise regulatory outcomes for APA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of APA’s regulatory proposals and supporting submissions to ensure an optimal outcome in relation to capital expenditure, operating costs, market cases and tariff path
  • Provide specialist advice to various APA business units and joint ventures on economic regulatory matters, including identifying regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure proposals are technically compliant with relevant legislative requirements
  • Lead assurance activities in relation to regulatory compliance across relevant APA divisions
  • Actively monitor, assess and respond to developments in regulatory legislation, rules and policy settings
  • Represent APA on industry working groups and committees

Your background

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, business, law or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years economic regulatory experience within a major corporate or regulatory agency
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable strength in stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent literacy and communications skills with the ability to put forward considered, rational and detailed arguments both in writing and verbally
  • Strong attention to detail
