Electricity Transmission Purpose
APA’s new Electricity Transmission business unit will be an integrated part of APA’s business, aligned to our purpose to strengthen communities through responsible energy, and supporting the delivery of safe, reliable, affordable, and low emissions energy. Electrification is critical to decarbonise our energy system and our vision is to be the partner of choice as an owner and operator of electricity transmission assets, including generator connection assets.
Within the Electricity Transmission business unit, wewill focus on contracted and regulated electricity transmission infrastructure, ensuring we create effective, strong partnerships with governments, commercial partners and the community. The acquisition of Basslink last year, added to our other Electricity Transmission assets being Murraylink and Directlink. These provide excellent growth platforms for us to build upon, as well as the immense opportunities taking place with the development of the Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) across the country.
Renewable Energy Zones
Our ambition is to be early adopters in Renewable Energy Zones and lead the way in Australia’s energy transition. We are industry leaders in national Greenfields electricity transmission projects.
As a first of its kind, the Renewable Energy Zones represents an opportunity to play a vital role in the accelerating New South Wales energy transition. As an employee, being a part of this project gives you the opportunity to add value to local communities and broader industry.
Everything we do at APA from helping connect millions of Australians to essential energy sources every day to achieving our net zero ambition - and the capability for our people to make this happen.
