The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Spatial Services Analyst to join us in our Network Services team in Eagle Farm QLD, Kidman Park SA or Thomastown VIC on a Permanent Fulltime basis. The Spatial Services team provides spatial information services and digital asset management services to support Network Services in the delivery of key business initiative and works program the program across Australia.
Reporting to the Manager of Spatial Services, you will play a key role in contributing to delivering geospatial products, services and solutions to our internal and external customers that supports their delivery of crucial asset-based business initiatives and work programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform spatial analysis and report on findings to support improvements to our physical and digital asset infrastructure.
- Integrate information captured from a variety of methods and data formats including field sketches and mobile devices into corporate data structures.
- Maintain an increasing range of data, in volume and formats, required to be captured by the business.
- Create and generate maps and report using a variety of digital technology including GE Smallword, esri ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
- Develop GIS mobile / web applications and support the business users of these solutions.
Your background
- Tertiary qualification in Geography (GIS, Surveying, IT or related field) and/or substantial relevant demonstrated industry experience in lieu of tertiary qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of GIS software and technology in an operational environment or a utility industry such as Gas or Energy.
- Strong knowledge and skills in data analytics, digital visualisation, web-based mobile mapping and map production.
- Knowledge of GE Smallworld products is preferred or other industry standard GIS software including esri and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of geospatial data including georeference systems, datums, map projections, data types, data quality, surveying & GPS capture and metadata.
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills with good attention to detail.
