The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide office on a Full Time Fixed Term (2 years) basis.
Reporting to the Manager Operations Procurement and Supply Chain, you will be providing procurement advice and guidance, and developing, refining and executing sourcing strategies at both an enterprise and business unit level in line with agreed Category Strategies, whilst supporting resource planning and pipeline prioritisation.
The role will be supporting assigned MRO categories of spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the effective delivery of end-to-end sourcing strategy and execution activities, including undertake market and internal analysis, development of sourcing strategies, go to market requests (RFx), evaluations, supplier negotiations, contract development, execution and handover
- Provide leadership and expertise in strategic sourcing across APA
- Develop strategic stakeholder relationships within APA business
- Management planning to aggregate demand/requirements across all portfolios
- Drive value for money, security of supply, compliance and operational efficiency initiatives
- Improve the supply chain performance through embedding improved supply chain planning practices within inventory sourcing processes
- Support panel management and supplier relationship management for assigned suppliers
Your background
- Relevant qualifications such as Diploma of Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply and/or tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, commerce or engineering (Preferred)
- Proven working experience in Procurement or Purchasing
- Demonstrable experience delivering and managing supply contracts from procurement plans, market analysis, tender development, complex tender reviews, ongoing supplier performance management and an excellent understanding of the probity and ethics of tendering
- Good understanding of contracting/purchasing principles, Acts and legislation relative to commercial agreements, vendors and the management, selection and vetting of suppliers
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
