The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Technician to join our Operations team in Young, NSW on a full time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Regional Manager Young, you will play a key role in providing the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of high-pressure transmission pipeline system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise and implement routine and unscheduled maintenance to pipeline system, compressor stations and associated facilities in accordance with established procedures.
- Undertake technical analysis and diagnosing solutions, ensuring we meet customer requirements and APA reliability goals.
- Provide reliable data, and reports for analysis and review. Provide effective documentation for APA's programmed and corrective maintenance programs.
- Develop and maintain effective, supportive and reliable communication and professional working relationship with field and office based colleagues.
Your technical strengths will be complimented by good interpersonal skills, effective written and verbal communication.
Your Background
- Experience in utilities, resources or a related industry is highly regarded.
- Trade qualified Mechanic or Fitter Mechanic is desirable. Equivalent experience in gas pipeline facilities is preferred but not essential.
- Able to use relevant computer applications to analyse data and records.
- Knowledge of CMMS (experience with Maximo is preferred but not essential).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Current manual drivers licence is essential, HR/HC licence will be advantageous.
- Able to work in remote locations for extended durations on occasion.
About the Team
Due to internal growth, there is a rare opportunity to join the Operations and Maintenance team, located in Young NSW. This group comprises of a small team who work across a geographically wide area travelling as far as Dubbo, Condobolin, Lithgow Canberra and lots of towns in between. The crew is made up of multidiscipline experienced Technicians and are excited to welcome a new person into their Ranks.
