The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering and Planning team in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney on a 12-month fixed term.
Reporting to the Team Lead Rotating, you will play an instrumental role in providing engineering services to the NSW and Victorian Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams.
Services will include working proactively to manage changes to deliver reliability improvements in line with the asset management framework in combination with supporting reactive maintenance/repair. The position will involve some site travel to engage directly with O&M stakeholders and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line operational technical support for above ground assets, specifically focusing on static mechanical equipment. This includes being available for rostered after-hours support.
- Review and manage operational engineering requests, prioritising and executing them based on risk and criticality.
- Facilitate incident investigations/root cause analysis (RCA) and produce reports.
- Manage changes to static mechanical equipment, including modifications to station piping, valves, and water bath heaters. Also, handle obsolescence management, drawing updates, and change management as needed.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of industry best practice maintenance strategies for static equipment types.
- Develop and maintain quality relationships with a variety of key stakeholders.
About You
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in gas transmission/production, power generation, or another heavy industrial sector.
- Experience working with mechanical equipment preferably including station piping, valves, and water bath heaters.
- Proficient in incident investigation (RCA) and reporting.
- Familiarity with risk assessments and risk management processes.
- Proven track record of delivering business improvement outcomes in maintenance, reliability, and asset inspection.
