Regulatory Compliance Manager

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Regulatory Compliance Manager to join us in our Asset Management team in Perth as our preferred location, with Adelaide and Darwin a consideration, on a full time basis.
Reporting to the Manager Operations Risk Compliance & Assurance, you will play a key role in overseeing compliance with regulatory and prudential requirements, managing audits, reporting and relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of regulatory compliance, risk management, and assurance of controls, including prudential requirements, regulator engagement, legislative change management, and compliance audits.
- Act as the key conduit for all regulatory information, ensuring effective flow of information between regulators and the business while preparing high-quality reports and responses
- Effectively communicating regulatory change and leading the implementation of these changes across Operations
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance to ensure the business proactively monitors, maintains, and measures compliance standards.
- Champion and enhance systems and processes that track, monitor, and report on compliance and risk at both Operations and enterprise levels.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to strengthen compliance and risk management across APA Operations.
Your background
- Demonstrated experience in compliance roles within asset-intensive sectors (e.g., energy, utilities, manufacturing) with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks
- Stakeholder engagement & collaboration – Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and regulators.
- Exceptional communication & influence – confident written and verbal communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels
- Regulatory interpretation & problem-solving – Skilled in analysing legislation and guidelines to provide practical, business-focused compliance advice.
- Judgement – can be relied on to make good decisions incorporating analysis, wisdom, experience & knowledge

The Operations Risk, Compliance and Assurance team play an integral role in ensuring that APA continues to connect millions of Australians to essential energy sources every day and in pursuing our net zero ambitions.
You will work as an integral member of this multidiscipline, geographically dispersed and highly skilled team of professionals. The team’s role is to proactively engage with key stakeholders both within the business and externally to ensure that APA’s operations remain compliant and consistent with risk appetite while also providing guidance in support of future growth opportunities.
