We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Power Systems Lead to join us in our Power and Electricity Transmission team in any of our capital cities on a full time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Power Services, Head of, you will play a key role you will act as the functional lead for operational control frameworks, providing authoritative guidance to identify and resolve systemic issues and deliver measurable, sustainable improvements across safety, compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying, leading, and participating in projects to improve the effectiveness of the operations.
- Facilitating projects and workshops to teach improvement skills; coaching, training, and mentoring a team of selected staff to identify and manage business improvement projects.
- Providing coaching and guidance to team members who are working on their business improvement qualifications; managing the implementation of the selected methodology (e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma) for problem solving within the organisation.
- Identifying, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting relevant information to support effective decision-making & conducting a performance reporting system.
- Preparing and managing Business Improvement team budgets to achieve business outcomes.
Your background
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex operational and system issues, applying structured problem-solving to identify root causes and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
- Strong systems thinking capability, with experience assessing how processes, controls and behaviours interact to influence safety, reliability and performance outcomes.
- Proven experience driving continuous improvement initiatives, translating insights into clear actions that improve consistency, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ability to apply sound judgement to ensure work and decisions align with operational intent, risk controls and business requirements.
- Experience influencing outcomes across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders through clear analysis, evidence-based recommendations and technical credibility.
- Track record of monitoring system performance, identifying emerging risks or inefficiencies, and proactively implementing improvements.
