We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Development Engineer to join us in our Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team in Perth on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Engineering WA, you will play a key role in coordinating the full lifecycle of Recoverable Works Agreements, from initial engagement with third parties, through project execution, to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all third-party recoverable works and third-party engagements, ensuring compliance with AS 2885 pipeline requirements on behalf of APA.
- Prepare cost estimates and coordinate pipeline integrity works in alignment with APA policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Asset Engineering team to review and endorse third-party designs and construction methodologies, ensuring compliance with APA’s safety, technical, and regulatory requirements prior to execution.
- Manage third-party interfaces and activities to protect APA personnel, assets, and operational integrity.
- Work closely with APA Operations & Maintenance teams, Corridor Integrity, and subject matter experts to ensure operational requirements are embedded within project scopes and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including standards, procedures, safe work practices, and monitoring regimes for work on or around pipeline assets.
Your background
- Sound engineering background with the ability to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including AS 2885 and relevant company standards and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in pipeline engineering and infrastructure commissioning activities, including support with engineering budget preparation and management of budget variances.
- Proven project management capability to deliver pipeline engineering projects end-to-end, ensuring schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Ability to develop preliminary and detailed mechanical and pipeline designs in line with approved scope of works and engineering requirements.
- Experience in developing engineering procedures, safe work practices, and monitoring regimes to support safe and compliant pipeline project delivery.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and internal and external stakeholders.
About the Team
The Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team exists to provide engineering and project delivery services to ensure reliable and safe operation of the APA Business Unit Gas West assets. The team enables APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers.
The team consists of Asset Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Major Maintenance and Gas East West Emergency Services.
