The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Engineer to join our Physical Security Project Delivery team in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead – Physical Security, you will play a key role in project management and coordinate technical activities, to assist in the delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support during all project phases.
  • Ensure that project designs meet operational requirements and APA engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand and address their technical needs.
  • Review and approve project designs and changes.
  • Report on project progress and technical issues to senior management.
  • Prepare project/package Scope of works and ensure that all components of the project are delivered to approved work scopes
  • Managing construction, commissioning, hand over and close out activities.

Your background

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent (required)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and productively in a team environment.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, power generation Industry or similar environment in design and commissioning.
  • Project Engineering experience on Physical Security Uplifts project.

About the Team

The Physical Security Project Delivery team focuses on securing APA’s critical energy infrastructure by uplifting physical security on these assets. To support operations, APA invests in a program of “stay-in-business” capital works as part of each asset’s lifecycle plan. The Physical Security Project Delivery team builds security uplift projects that minimise security risks, achieve regulatory compliance, and improve the operability of APA’s assets.

Physical Security Project Delivery team is a passionate multi-discipline design and delivery team, covering engineering and project management. The team delivers security uplift projects across APA’s asset base from natural gas transmission, power generation, renewables and electricity transmission. These projects ensure APA’s assets are secured with expectations of customers, the community and APA’s vision to be world class.
