We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Investment Accountant to join our Finance team in our Sydney CBD or Adelaide office on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Investments Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management of APA’s investments and joint ventures (JVs). This role is responsible for overseeing the full finance lifecycle across a portfolio of investments - from financial reporting and budgeting through to board reporting, forecasting and technical accounting advice.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and JV partners, you will provide high-quality financial insights, ensure strong financial governance and contribute to the ongoing performance and transparency of APA’s investment portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end finance activities for a portfolio of joint ventures and investments, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including providing analysis and commentary for management and board reporting.
Coordinate budgeting and planning processes for assigned investments, supporting longer-term financial forecasts and strategic planning.
Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal financial policies.
Maintain and oversee financial systems, general ledger integrity and financial controls to support accurate and consistent reporting.
Partner with internal stakeholders and JV partners to provide financial insights, support decision-making and drive strong financial governance.
Your background
CA or CPA qualified with extensive experience in accounting, finance or investment-related roles.
Strong technical accounting capability with experience interpreting and applying accounting standards.
Experience delivering end-to-end finance responsibilities, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for senior stakeholders and non-finance audiences.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
Advanced skills in financial systems and Excel, with experience working across accounting and reporting platforms.
