We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join us in our Operations & Maintenance team at Diamantina Power Station in Mount Isa on a full time 12 month max term contract.

Reporting to the maintenance team leader you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems. This includes ensuring the safety and reliability of these systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and complying with industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to these systems.
• Comply with industry regulations and standards to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve the performance of mechanical systems.
• Provide technical support and training to other staff as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to advise on potential improvements.

Your background

• Strong technical skills with a good understanding of mechanical systems and infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Mechanical engineering qualifications will be an advantage relating to power generation.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to mechanical systems.

The Diamantina Power Facility’s operations & maintenance team exist to safely operate Diamantina power generation assets, in an efficient and cost-effective manner to enable APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers.
