To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Chief Petroleum Engineer to join our team.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager Development & Reservoir Management, the purpose of this position is to provide subsurface governance and assurance across all stages of the opportunity realization process, which is from identify to operate phases.
Manage Petroleum Engineering (PE) work and resources, oversee all PE standards required for subsurface governance as well as the implementation of the processes, thereby delivering efficient support to Developments, Projects and Operations.
This is a Brisbane based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.
In addition you will:

- Lead, define and maintain Petroleum Engineering (PE) Framework to support the development concept approvals.
- Set the PE knowledge and skill standards we need to deliver effectively in the subsurface organization.
- Ensure successful implementation of PE discipline delivery plan, to help raise the overall effectiveness of the subsurface team.
- Oversee the implementation of subsurface opportunity realization framework to assess engineering strategies related to reservoir properties and artificial lift performance.
- Provide recommendations to safely mitigate the risks encountered at various project phases.
- Lead and manage engagements with key internal and external stakeholders to align, define, and integrate subsurface processes and polices across Arrow Energy.
- Lead and manage reserves and resources, maintain the corporate reserves portfolio and the associated change control process.
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- To operate at a level commensurate with a University Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience managing a multi-disciplinary team.
- Skilled usage of industry standard reservoir and production engineering software.
- Petroleum engineering knowledge in field development planning, well performance optimisations, reservoir management studies, well completions and interventions, well testing and nodal analysis.
- Knowledge of other discipline tasks such as operations, WRFM, drilling, facilities engineering, Petrophysics, geology and geophysics.
