About ARTC

Join our team and be part of keeping the future of transport on track.

ARTC is a vital link in Australia’s transport supply chain – operating and maintaining the national rail network to connect our regions, cities and ports. We help enable the safe and efficient transit of freight and passenger trains across the country, managing more than 9,600km of rail track across five states and the lands of more than 50 First Nations.

About the Team

When you join the Infrastructure Projects team, you’ll be part of delivering Australia’s future rail network. From critical construction projects to our $2.8 billion Network Investment Program with the Australian Government, the team delivers nationally significant projects that strengthen supply chains and support the safe, reliable movement of freight across the country.

About the Opportunity

To lead the development and delivery of large, complex capital infrastructure projects across South Australia and Western Australia as part of the Infrastructure Projects portfolio. The role is responsible for overseeing the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of work packages, ensuring alignment with ARTC’s strategic objectives, project governance requirements and broader business priorities.

  • Lead multidisciplinary Project Managers, Engineers, consultants and contractors to achieve project and program objectives.
  • Oversee project performance, milestones, budgets, forecasting, risks and key delivery issues.
  • Manage contracts, procurement, claims, approvals, variations and commercial documentation.
  • Provide accurate project status, financial and performance reporting to senior management.
  • Coordinate project delivery with ARTC network operations to minimise disruption and operational impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with ARTC project management procedures, governance, Safety Management System (SMS), Environmental Management System (EMS) and relevant legislation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure WH&S and rail safety requirements are consistently maintained.

  • Engineering degree and eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.
  • Class C licence, White Card and RIW Card.
  • 7+ years’ project management experience in engineering/linear infrastructure.
  • Major capital infrastructure delivery, feasibility, environmental and stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong commercial, contract, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, structured approach with strong interface management capability.
  • Knowledge of construction/contract law and railway systems, including track, civil and signalling.

What will you get from us?

  • Competitive remuneration
  • Resources to support your health and wellbeing and development
  • Novated leasing options, as well as discounts and support programs
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their direct family members
