About the Opportunity
ASC is seeking aProject Engineering Manager – Engineering, to support engineering coordination and delivery activities across SSN Sustainment. In this role, you’ll lead and mentor engineers, support critical engineering and maintenance activities, and play a key role in developing a world-class engineering function for the future. Working alongside Australian and US counterparts, you'll contribute to capability development while advancing your own professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Engineering and wider leadership team in the delivery and continuous improvement of the Engineering Department.
- Provide expert engineering advice and problem-solving support for submarine maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure engineering work complies with nuclear safety, regulatory, quality, and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate with Government, Defence, Ship’s Force, and assurance stakeholders to support maintenance outcomes.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver engineering activities supporting Submarine Maintenance Periods within SRF-W.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering personnel, driving capability uplift and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
We are seeking an experienced engineering professional who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an equivalent recognised engineering discipline.
- Experience working within engineering functions supporting complex sustainment or operational programs.
- Demonstrated application of project management techniques on an engineering project in a project engineering role or similar.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering governance, assurance and quality systems.
- Experience coordinating engineering activities or supporting multi discipline engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, program and business stakeholders.
- Submarine maintenance experience is highly regarded, with experience supporting SSN platforms, particularly within US or UK submarine programs.
- This is also a development role, with an expectation that the successful candidate will actively pursue professional growth opportunities aligned to program and business needs.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
