ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

As a People& Culture Specialist – Workforce Strategy& Reporting, you'll play a key role in shaping workforce outcomes through strategic reporting, workforce insights, and strong stakeholder engagement. Working closely with People& Culture teams, project teams, and corporate reporting functions, you'll support the delivery of workforce initiatives designed to meet workforce targets and organisational priorities.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner with a wide range of stakeholders to develop workforce reporting and strategy documents, coordinate critical inputs, track key milestones, and drive progress against program deadlines. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building and influencing skills, the ability to navigate competing priorities, and a proactive approach to keeping stakeholders aligned, accountable, and focused on delivering successful workforce outcomes.

This is a full-time opportunity based in Perth.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of workforce strategy initiatives, reporting frameworks, and workforce planning activities that align with program objectives.
  • Develop and maintain workforce reports, dashboards, and analytics, providing actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to support workforce targets and business outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across People& Culture, project teams, and corporate functions to coordinate inputs and drive progress against key deliverables.
  • Monitor, track, and report on workforce initiatives and milestones, ensuring stakeholders remain aligned and on track to meet critical deadlines.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and workforce analytics capability through continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

You are a highly organised and analytical professional with a strong eye for detail and a passion for turning workforce data into meaningful insights. Confident working with both people data and stakeholder engagement, you can interpret and validate information from HR systems, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex data into clear, actionable reporting. You thrive in collaborative environments, building strong relationships across teams, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and driving outcomes against challenging deadlines, even when you don't have direct ownership of the work.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in workforce reporting, analytics, workforce planning, position management, HRIS, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret, validate, and communicate complex workforce data.
  • Advanced attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, governance, and quality.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and insights using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outcomes to tight deadlines.

Qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Analytics, Psychology, or a related discipline are desirable, or equivalent experience demonstrating transferable skills and capability.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in workforce planning, reporting, analytics, project controls, or similar disciplines within large, complex organisations. Candidates from Defence, Defence industry, infrastructure, engineering, construction, mining, utilities, or other major project environments will be highly regarded.
