About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Payroll Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of our payroll processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Australia’s Submarine Program. Reporting directly to the Group Shared Services Manager, you will oversee a team of payroll professionals. Your primary mission will be to guarantee the precise and timely processing of the fortnightly payroll for our employees, all while adhering to legislative requirements and maintaining meticulous employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the ASC payroll environment.
  • ASC currently has three Enterprise Agreements (EAs) so this position will ensure salary payments are in accordance with the relevant EA.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, audit and business standards by maintaining appropriate control practices
  • Payroll related reporting
  • Development and administration of payroll related systems
  • Management and development of payroll staff

Skills & Experiences

  • Certificate in Payroll Management
  • Significant experience working within a payroll environment in a large organisation (>2,000 employees)
  • Demonstrated computerised payroll system knowledge – previously use of CHRIS21 would be favourable
  • Demonstrated ability to competently work in both a team environment and independently as required
  • Excellent numeracy skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Well organised, methodical and able to meet demanding deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
