About the Opportunity
The Forward Planning Team is a key capability area within the Forward Planning department. The core purpose of the Forward Planning Team is to provide world class planning services and support to ASC and broader Submarine Enterprise. The Planning Team also manages external stakeholder relationships (e.g. Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Raytheon, THALES etc.) in support of Maintenance Activity work package generation, execution and coordination and associated technical information to the wider CCSM Enterprise.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Work Package Forward Planning Team Lead, the Forward Planner is required to assist with generating, building and validating submarine maintenance activity work packages in SIMS (Ships Information Management System) and the ASC Corporate MRP System iaw the requirements of CoA Advanced Planning Letters and ASC Corporate Procedures, while adhering to the key milestones of the Collins Class Submarine Maintenance Program.
Expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all Work Package Planning services are delivered in accordance with the E2E process / milestone dates (or better) and are provided in a format required by downstream customers.
- Assist with developing consistent and repeatable work packages iaw CCSM program requirements and provide the MAWPs to Work Package Planners in an accurate and mature state.
- Assist with ensuring the SIMS Total Work Packages are compiled iaw the ILS maintenance requirements, have rectification work scope for repairs / concessions and have the required design upgrade / change scope for Configuration Change Proposals (CCPs).
- Maintain the standard of the corporate Maintenance Activity Work Packages (MAWPs) with accurate material demands, operation structures and estimates.
- Interrogation of the SIMS Registered Maintenance Item (RMI) tables to ensure certified components are either in date or require re-certification.
- Raise SIMS MRR Amendment Proposals (MAPs) from production feedback forms.
- Continuous improvement and adherence to the Submarine Planning Corporate Management System processes, internal work instructions and other processes required by the Project Management Plan.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold Australian Citizenship and be eligible to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance that includes providing a current National Police Clearance Certificate if successful.
About you
- Trade Certificate and / or Tertiary Qualification in Engineering / Business or demonstrated competence and experience with work order & MCR generation, coordination and closeout processes within a project or planning environment
- Demonstrated corporate data base and ERP system knowledge and skills utilised to interrogate corporate tools and data bases in support of work package generation, execution and closeout.
- A working knowledge of the SIMS System including the Submarine
- Configuration Management and the Registered Maintenance Item modules.
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and influencing skills - written, verbal, interpersonal and across multiple levels.
- High level problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, alignment and accuracy of corporate data and information systems.
