About the Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Assurance Manager to lead ASC’s engineering assurance activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety obligations, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Technical Governance and Assurance, you’ll manage a skilled team delivering assurance frameworks and services that support Australia’s nuclear and conventional submarine programs. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, influencing technical change, and strengthening ASC’s governance culture across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team delivering engineering assurance activities across ASC, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement assurance frameworks that support safety, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee delivery of technical assurance services, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with ASC’s strategic objectives.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to influence positive change and maintain compliance with technical regulations.
- Manage budgets and resources to optimise assurance activities across multiple programs and locations.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in assurance processes and tools.
- Provide leadership and clear direction to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
About you
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience leading technical teams in high-risk, regulated environments.
- Strong background in engineering assurance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Skilled in developing and implementing strategies that improve safety and technical governance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to drive organisational change.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
