About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a Technical Governance Manager to lead ASC’s engineering governance activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety obligations, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Technical Governance and Assurance, you’ll manage a high-performing team responsible for developing and maintaining governance frameworks that support Australia’s nuclear and conventional submarine programs. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, influencing technical change, and strengthening ASC’s governance culture across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of engineering governance frameworks and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety obligations, and regulatory requirements across ASC.
- Oversee governance activities, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with ASC’s strategic objectives.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to influence positive change and promote governance initiatives.
- Manage budgets and resources to optimise governance activities across multiple programs and locations.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in governance processes and tools.
- Provide leadership and clear direction to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
About you
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience leading technical teams in high-risk, regulated environments.
- Strong background in engineering governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Skilled in developing and implementing strategies that improve safety and technical governance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to drive organisational change.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
